VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTVR) — The Commonwealth could soon be getting its own version of the London Eye, the massive Ferris wheel that has become a distinctive part of the city’s iconic skyline.
A St. Louis company wants to build a 200-foot-tall SkyWheel at the oceanfront by 2015.
Computer renderings provided by Koch Development show what the wheel would look like installed at the 17th Street Park beside the boardwalk.
The Virginia Beach City Council could approve the project this spring.
Koch built a similar SkyWheel in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2011.
