RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- A collision occurred during a stock car race Saturday night at the Richmond Coliseum. The crash took place during the youth division event.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday on the first lap of the course, racers lined up behind one another in a turn on the course, causing a collision. Several cars were involved in the pileup.
Race officials say no one was hurt, but that injuries are not uncommon in the sport.
This race was particularly for children between the ages of 8 and thirteen. Each racer is required to have safety gear, including seat belts, helmets and arm restraints.
