From a news release from the Red Cross:

NORFOLK, Va. — The Red Cross is asking folks in Central Virginia to donate blood following the massive winter storm that canceled over 250 Red Cross blood drives across the south.

The Red Cross is asking people unaffected by the storm to consider making an appointment to donate blood or platelets.

Blood donors are needed now and will be needed in the coming weeks to help ensure blood is available for patients who need it.

You can make an appointment to give blood online at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
