HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A makeshift memorial is growing for a Hanover mother killed by a car while she was out on a run.
Sneakers were stacked to nearly the top of the street sign in tribute to Meg Menzies Thursday.
Deputies said Menzies was running in a Hanover County neighborhood earlier this month, when doctor Michael Carlson's SUV ran into her.
Carlson was charged with driving under the influence and involuntary manslaughter.
Search warrants obtained by CBS 6 News revealed investigators are also looking into whether Carlson was texting at the time of the crash.
