RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – With another round of winter weather heading to Central Virginia comes another chance for area school children to miss more class. Last week’s winter blast closed schools for the week. During those days off, some children ventured outside to enjoy the winter weather.
Children like Richard.
“My son, Richard waited all winter to go snow sledding,” Richard’s mom wrote in an email. “We went out, bought sleds, wax for bottom, etc.”
By the time the sun rose last Wednesday morning, there was a couple of inches of snow on the ground.
“When he woke up Wednesday he was very excited. I went outside with him and told him the road was slick and he would probably slide if he took off running and slid on the sled. Well…disappointment…he didnt go far…at all.”
