Sections of the Midlothian area of Chesterfield are without power tonight after a sleeve connector used to lengthen wires failed, which caused the wires to fall and zap Verizon’s fiber optic cables.
According to Dominion Power, crews arrived at 10:15 p.m. to find that a wire had fallen on a fiber optics line.
There were multiple reports of smoke and outages, including traffics lights. The power company, fire officials and fire officials are working together to restore power.
Initially there were 4,000 without power and at this time there are 1,600 left without power. A Dominion Power representatives estimated a return of service within one hour, hopefully.
