RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Police are in the early stages of a homicide investigation in the city's Northside.
According to police, officers were called to the 2,000 block of Second Ave. around 12:50a.m. for a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived on scene they found a male, suffering from a gunshot wound and unresponsive, in a side yard of a house on Second Ave.
Police say the victim, a black male in his early 20's, was transported to VCU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
