(CNN) — Denver police have arrested two juveniles after they were seen entering a middle school with what appeared to be a rifle and backpacks.
Police Chief Robert White said the suspects got into Rachel B. Noel Middle School by breaking through a window. Authorities have not yet recovered the rifle and backpacks.
An employee said he saw them enter the school at about 10 p.m. Monday. Nobody was in the school when the break-in occurred, according to police.
White said the juveniles attempted to break into Greenwood Elementary earlier in the evening, but weren’t successful.
CNN’s Chuck Johnston contributed to this report.
