CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Voters in Chesterfield County have struck down a meals tax by 56 to 44 percent Tuesday night.
Chesterfield leaders had predicted that the 2-percent tax could generate $4 million per year.
However, voters did approve a referendums for public safety projects by 71 to 30 percent and a Chesterfield school projects by 72 to
28 percent.
