ST. LOUIS (WTVR) – Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate said he regrets taunting the St. Louis Rams while scoring a touchdown during his team’s Monday Night Football win.
“That was immature of me. Hurt my team. I’ve gotta stay composed,” Tate told NFL Media’s Michelle Beisner after the game.“I gotta apologize to our special teams. I put them in an awkward situation, but more happy to get up and learn from it and move forward.”
Tate was penalized for taunting when he waived goodbye to Rams defenders on his way to the end zone in the third quarter. The Seahawks were penalized 15 years on the ensuing kickoff.
Richmond-native Russell Wilson and the Seahawks beat the Rams 14 -9.
