RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS is a progressive neuro-degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which often leads to total paralysis and death within 2 to 5 years of diagnosis. The Richmond 'Walk to Defeat ALS' hopes to bring awareness to this dreadful disease. Lynne McMichael and Lauren Schingh shared more details.
