PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WTKR) -- Shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, a teen girl was struck by a police car on Portsmouth Boulevard. Police say the woman stepped in front of the vehicle while a witness said she was chasing after a young child.
Even from inside her home, Shantela Richardson said she could hear the gruesome accident.
“You could hear this screech, then there was a boom and then I just heard, literally something landed like a sack of potatoes,” Richardson said.
The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.
The investigation into the incident is still active and ongoing.
