What does it take to be in the Guinness Book of World Records? Ask contortionist Leilani Franco, James Brown, and a goat named Happie. These are just a few of the new title holders listed in the 2014 edition.
“Whenever I’m at a party my friends are always like, ‘Leilani do a trick! Show people what you can do,’” Leilani Franco said.
Franco is the newest addition to the Most Amazing Contortionist category, hailing these three titles: including Fastest Human Backbend Walk, and Fastest Contortion Roll and Most Full Body Revolutions.
James Brown’s obsession, which started as a young boy, landed him the title of Largest Collection of Vacuums.
“I would have six or seven at any one time, because we were limited for space,” Brown explained. “If I wanted another one, another one had to go.”
“Then as I got a bit older, I use to sneak in a few more machines,” Brown said, “And it started to snowball from there.”
And, it seems that winning a title in The Guinness Book of World Records can really go to your head, just ask Melody Cooke.
“She’s a little bit of a diva now. She’s still very friendly, but sometimes she has this attitude, or this look in her eye like, ‘look at me I’m a diva,’” Cooke said about her goat, Happie. Happie is recognized as The Goat that Skateboarded the Furthest.
However, none of this could possibly compare to a fire-breathing, damsel-saving, knight-fighting dragon. That’s right, German engineers have created the World’s Largest Walking Robot, in the form of a dragon.
These are just a few of the titles and record holders that Guinness Book of World Records has to offer in 2014. The record book is on sale now in bookstores and through online sales outlets.
