RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)–Barker Field will soon be expanded and improved.
Barker Field is a fenced, multi-acre dog park situated in Byrd Park’s southeast corner. During all seasons dogs can be found there, often dozens, and sometimes several dozen milling and chasing around the park.
According to a Facebook post, picnic table swill be refurbished or replaced and shade trees will be planted this winter.
There’s a plan to pave under the shade structures with cobblestones donated by the city. Extra fencing will be also be added.
EnRichmond is seeking volunteer help and donations to help with the projects.
