RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- There is new information about who is funding all those radio and TV gubernatorial campaign ads heating up the airwaves in Virginia.
Information obtained from the State Board of Elections shows the Republican and Democratic governors associations are among the largest donors.
In fact, the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAC), which obtained the financial records for both campaigns, shows the Republican Governors Association's donations for Ken Cuccinelli's campaign totaled more than $5.5 million to date.
Additionally, VPAC reported the Democratic Governors Association has donated nearly $2.2 million for Terry McAuliffe's campaign as of June 17.
