Raccoon tests positive for rabies in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Animal control officials in Henrico are sounding the alarm about a rabid raccoon found last Friday.

Henrico Police Animal Protection received a call about an injured raccoon in the 3200 block of Ella Road.

While the animal was in the yard, a dog made contact with the raccoon.

The raccoon, which was sent to submitted to the state lab for testing, tested positive for rabies.
