RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The Fan District Association (FDA) sent out a “Special Safety Alert” Tuesday about an incident reported in the Richmond neighborhood. According to the FDA, a man in a red truck “solicited” three girls while they played outside a Fan District home about 11:20 a.m. on Aug. 5.

“Come here and play ball,” the FDA reported the man told the girls. The girls went inside the home and told an adult what happened. Richmond Police and VCU Police responded, according to the FDA.

“To our knowledge, the driver has not been identified. He was described as Caucasian, male, mid-40s and had some hair on his chin, driving a red truck,” the FDA wrote in its alert. “This incident presents an opportunity to remind one and all to do just as these girls did and ignore such a solicitation and immediately report it to a trusted adult.”

The incident took place along the 1400 block of Grove Ave., according to Richmond Police.
