RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The state announced its long-term rail plans which include a connection from Richmond to Lynchburg, but another connection some were hoping for didn’t make the cut.
Many people advocated for a connection between Charlottesville and Richmond, but others don’t think there is a market for it.
The state is focusing more on plans to improve existing service and infrastructure, mostly in the Hampton Roads area.
After those projects are complete the Lynchburg connection will get underway.
