HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Henrico County Schools are going “tobacco-free.” The county’s newly adopted tobacco-free school policy goes into effect Thursday, Aug. 1.
“The policy prohibits all tobacco use by school employees, parents, students and visitors on school property, including parking lots and athletic facilities,” Henrico County Schools wrote on its website. “The policy also applies to individuals who are performing services on behalf of the school division while on duty for HCPS off school grounds.”
The county says tobacco and tobacco related products include, but are not limited to:
- Cigarettes
- Cigars
- Chewing tobacco
- Pipes
- Electronic devices that emit nicotine vapor
