Moore, OKla. (KOCO) – A Pennsylvania family drove 1,000 miles to deliver more than 1,000 stuffed animals to tornado victims in Moore, Oklahoma. The bears were collected through a school donation program.
Rachel and T.J. Weinwrich said they decided to organize the stuffed animal collection after seeing the tornado damage on the news.
"Me and T.J. both have our special stuffed animal that we've had since we were little," Rachel said. "We figure if they [Oklahoma children] lost everything, they also lost their special friend. So we wanted to give them a new one that they could have."
The stuffed animals will be passed out to Oklahoma school children during back-to-school programs next month.
