RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Men looking for a second chance at being a father were able to see their children at the Richmond City Jail on Sunday.
For many of the inmates, it was the first time they had seen their children in months.
Sheriff C.T. Woody told CBS 6 News that the visitation was a part of a program that rewards offenders who "have the right attitude about returning home to be better fathers for their children to qualify offenders have to complete recovery programs or be recommended by an administrator.”
For those that were approved, it was a special day.
This is the seventh Father’s Day visitation at the Richmond City Jail. Administrators said the event is something people look forward to every year.
