Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who died in service to their country.
A new “How Do We Know?” infographic titled, “Memorial Day: Honoring America’s Wartime Veterans” uses results from the 2011 American Community Survey to profile today’s living veterans by the wartime periods in which they served.
It also presents information from the Department of Defense, Defense Manpower Data Center, on the number of service members and the number who died in each of our nation’s wars since the Civil War.
Today America honors overs one million men and women who died in military since the Civil War.
