RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Emergency crews said they will be ready if the state sees another earthquake like the one that shook parts of Central Virginia in 2011.
Virginia’s Department of Emergency Management is holding a drill next Tuesday, simulating what it would be like if there were a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Virginia.
The drill will include actors playing distraught earthquake survivors and emergency shelters will even be set up.
Experts said a strong earthquake could do even more extensive damage than the August 2011 earthquake.
