Governor McDonnell’s oldest daughter weds in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTVR) - Governor Bob McDonnell's eldest daughter tied the knot over the weekend in Virginia Beach. Jeanine McDonnell exchanged vows with former governor staffer Adam Zubowsky. The couple's wedding reception was held at the Cavalier Hotel.

Jeanine, an Iraq War veteran, campaigned with her father and worked as defense contractor. She also spoke at the Republican Convention last year.

Her name surfaced recently in the on-going investigation into political donor Jonnie Williams and his Henrico-based company Star Scientific.

While Williams gave Jeanine McDonnell's sister a $15,000 gift to help pay for her wedding two years ago, whistle-blower and former Executive Mansion chef Todd Schneider told the Washington Post Jeanine also benefited with perks as the Governor's daughter.

He told the Post Jeanine lived in the Governor's beach cottage for several months in 2012 and that her mother gave her pots and pans from the mansion.
