CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Workers repairing damage caused by a fire at a Chesterfield aluminum plant sparked a second fire, according to Chesterfield fire spokesman Lt. Jason Elmore.
The fire was reported Friday morning at Aleris Rolled Product plant on Reymet Rd.

Elmore said crews are using salt to help prevent the fire from spreading in an effort to avoid a repeat of last week's scenario where fire and flammable material fell from the tower onto the roof.

Elmore said hazardous material removed from the tower during last week's fire had not yet been returned, reducing the danger this time.
