NEW ORLEANS — Golfers face plenty of hazards on the course; water, strong winds, and on Thursday, apparently an alligator.
Three alligators approached some golfers near the water at the PGA Zurich Classic Tournament in New Orleans, but it was the three-legged gator that made a splash.
The gator, estimated to be about 12 feet, slowly approached a rules official. Spectators were startled, unlike the official in the golf cart looking relatively unfazed.
The animal is apparently a regular visitor, according to The Huffington Post.Employees have nicknamed the gator “Tripod.”
At first, the creature appeared to posed a danger. As it turns out, the three-legged gator stopped beside the rules official, just looking to make a friend.
