Tuesday is the Day of Remembrance for the 2007 shooting spree on the Virginia Tech campus that killed 32 people and injured numerous others.

Governor Bob McDonnell issued a proclamation recognizing April 16 as the official Day of Remembrance. A full list of events can be found on Virginia Tech’s website.

At 9:43 a.m., a moment of silence will be held statewide.  At the stroke of midnight Tuesday, a  ceremonial candle was lit, and will remain lit for 24 hours.
