RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Many of you are paying five cents less for gas this week than last week. Gasoline price website GasBuddy.com reported the average retail price for gas in Richmond fell a nickel over the last seven days.
During the last week, national gas prices have fallen four cents to $3.58 a gallon. The average price of gas in Richmond is now $3.47 a gallon.
Compared to the same time last year, gas prices in Richmond are more than 45 cents lower. That, according to Gas Buddy, is a trend seen around the country.
“Prices in nearly all Metropolitian Statistical Areas are lower today than a year ago,” GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan said in a press release. “Americans are spending $108 million less on gasoline every day than they were a year ago.
