LOS ANGELES, Ca. (CNN) –
15-year-old Eli Reimer and his father arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to find a crowd of supporters waiting for them Friday night.
The two returned to the states from Nepal after a successful mission to raise money and awareness for disabled children.
They got to revel in the achievement on World Down Syndrome Day, which was Thursday.
“We’re able to celebrate that as we departed Katmandu with him just completing something that as far as we know, no other teen with Down Syndrome has done, so it’s monumental,” Justin Reimer, Eli’s father says.
His father also says when everyone else was dragging, his son led the way to base camp.
