RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - It’s one of the last wooden carousels left operating in the world! Built in 1917, the p-t-c number 44 carousel first dazzled riders in Springfield, Massachusetts. Then Providence, Rhode Island before spinning the seasons away as a family tradition of Kings Dominion in the mid-70s. Now, the carousel is enjoying some ‘TLC’ as part of a multi-year restoration.
