One in three children is overweight or obese in the United States. In the past 30 years, childhood obesity has doubled in children and tripled in adolescents, and continues to grow at an alarming rate.

Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU is dedicated to preventing and treating childhood obesity through its new Healthy Lifestyles Center. From increasing physical activity to addressing loss of control eating, the center’s team of dietitians, psychologists, exercise medicine and pediatric specialists cover all aspects associated with obesity and related health issues, and tailor individualized plans to meet the needs of children and their families.

Discover how the center is the only facility in the region to integrate research and clinical based methods to treat obesity and related health issues in children and adolescents.
