RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Police arrested a man accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. Jomar Thomas, 24, is charged with assault and obstruction of justice.
An officer grew suspicious when he saw a group of people standing around a vehicle on Hull Street, according to Richmond Police. When the officer took a closer look, police said he saw Thomas assaulting the woman .
Police said when the officer pulled Thomas off the woman, the man reached for the officer's gun. When other officers arrived on scene they subdued the suspect, police said.
