(WTVR) - Furniture giant IKEA is stopping sales of its meatballs in Sweden after a report they contain horse meat. Food inspectors in the Czech Republic found traces of horse meat in batches of frozen meatballs.
The product was available in 13 different European markets. IKEA is recalling the suspicious meatball batch out of precaution.
The company says its own tests have not shown any traces of the meat. IKEA is the latest company caught up in the Europe-wide scandal over horse meat.
It began in Ireland last month, when authorities found horse meat in some products labeled as beef.
