TANGIER ISLAND, Va. (WTVR) — Four people are back on solid ground after being rescued after two boats became stranded off the Eastern Shore.
It happened just after midnight near Tangier Island when a 36-foot boat ran aground.
However, when marine police arrived to rescue the stranded father and son, their boat also got stuck.
As a result, a Coast Guard helicopter crew pulled the pair, along with the officers, to safety.
No one was injured.
