CHICAGO (WTVR) - A multi-state manhunt is taking place in the midwest Friday for a convicted murderer who was given his freedom due to a clerical error.
Stephen Robbins, 44-years-old, was at a court appearance on drug charges when his case was tossed out by the judge.
Instead of being returned to prison in Indiana to resume his 60-year sentence for murder, he was released. Police say he could be anywhere in Illinois, Indiana or other neighboring states.
There will be an investigation into why Robbins was let go, but for now the priority is on catching him.
