Richmond, VA (WTVR) – More people are living in Virginia. According to a new study, Virginia’s population is outpacing the rest of the nation.
Virginia’s population grew by 2.3% between 2010 and July of 2012. At the same time, the United States’ population grew by 1.7%.
More than half of the State’s growth occurred in Northern Virginia, Virginia Beach, and Richmond.
The study, done by demographers at the University of Virginia, also puts the state’s current population at 8.2 million.
