Bloody pillow found in crib, nanny arrested

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WTVR) – A bloody pillow was found in the crib of a child that died after she was shaken by her nanny, according to a report on Yahoo News.

The nanny, 34-year-old Aisling McCarthy Brady, was arraigned Tuesday. The Irish national pleaded not guilty to assault and battery on a child, causing major bodily harm, and ordered held on half-a-million-dollars bond.

Prosecutors expect she’ll be charged with homicide once the autopsy is complete.

Brady's attorney insisted the nanny was innocent and had a clean record.

But in 2007, Brady was charged with assault, a case a judge later threw out because the victim refused to testify. In 2012, Brady was served with a harassment prevention order.

"I wouldn't leave her watching my dog for an hour," neighbor Tom Collins said. "She's angry, she was an angry, angry person, she would go off the hinges from like zero to 60 in like two seconds."

An immigration official said Brady is an Irish national in the United States illegally. Federal authorities said they plan to deport her once charges are settled.
