ST. GEORGE, Ut. (CNN) - A woman in Utah is out of the hospital after being crushed by a boulder while asleep in her bed. It happened Saturday at 3 o'clock in the morning.
Scot Denhalter says his wife, Wanda was asleep when the unthinkable happened.
"Rolled down into our bedroom onto my wife's side of the bed, crushed the bed and hurt my wife. The neighbor down the street said he could hear her screaming," said Denhalter.
In shock and injured, somehow she managed to find her phone and call 911.
Her husband Scot was at their son's home nearby when police found him.
"The officer told me she had been in an accident - and she just bought a car, and that's what I thought had happened. An unfamiliar vehicle and that she'd had a smash up or something."
But that wasn't the case.
"It took me awhile to kind of get my arms around it."
Wanda suffered a broken jaw, cracked sternum, and a large gash.
Scot said when they bought their home beneath the ridge in St. George, he liked the shade it provided in the summer, but warned his wife about something like this happening.
"That ridge up there bothers me. You know, you could have a big boulder snap and come down and go right through the house and she said that would never happen."
