(CNN) — Oprah Winfrey’s interview with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong will air across two nights, she told CBS on Tuesday.
“We were mesmerized and riveted by some of his answers,” Oprah said.
The interview lasted 2 ½ hours. Winfrey said she prepared 112 questions, but did not get to all of them during the two-and-a-half hour interview.
Armstrong “did not come clean in the manner that I expected,” Winfrey said, adding that he “was ready” and “met the moment.”
After CBS reported that Armstrong admitted using banned substances, Winfrey said her team and Armstrong’s camp had agreed not to leak what was in the interview, but now, somehow, “it’s already been confirmed.”
