Bills could reverse 2012 legislation

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — The Reproductive Rights Caucus, Democratic members of the House and Senate, and leaders from the Virginia Pro-choice Coalition joined to talk about what will be a controversial topic again this year, women’s reproductive health care.

Delegates and Senators announced a number of bills that will be introduced addressing the topic.

The bills would repeal legislation passed in 2012 that tighten abortion clinic regulations and create a mandatory abdominal ultrasound requirement for pregnant women.

Another bill would protect a women’s right to access birth control.
