RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - Carytown officials are expecting a smaller turnout at the Byrd compared to past years. However, heavy foot and vehicle traffic is still anticipated leading up to the ball raise at midnight. Officials expect people to take advantage of the restaurants and bars around the area, gathering at the Byrd for the final minutes of 2012. Police will be on scene monitoring crowd control issues. However, no street closures are listed.
If you can avoid the area along Cary Street between Thompson and Boulevard from 7pm through 2am please do so.
