Marines to face random Breathalyzer testing

Posted

A report by the Los Angeles Times says that Marines and sailors will soon face random blood alcohol tests.

The regulations will ring in with the New Year; starting January 1, they will be tested randomly twice each year.

Anyone on the job with a blood alcohol content level of .01, the equivalent of about a single eight ounce drink, will be referred to counseling.

If they’re found with a level of .04 they will be sent to medical personnel to see if they are fit for duty.

The tests will all be taken with a Breathalyzer.
