(WTVR) – The White House will have to respond to an unusual request pretty soon.
More than 25,000 people have petitioned the Obama administration calling for them to build a “Star Wars”-style Death Star by 2016. In the movies, the Death Star is capable of destroying a planet with a single laser beam.
The authors of the petition argue that building one would strengthen national defense and create jobs.
The White House promises to respond to all petitions reaching 25,000 signatures on its “We the People” website.
