RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - CBS news is reporting that House Republicans led by speaker John Boehner have submitted a counter-proposal to the White House over avoiding the "fiscal cliff."
Their plan would raise $800 billion in tax revenue and raise the age in which medicare benefits kick in.
The White House has rejected the offer, saying it "does not meet the test of balance."
