RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- For the past three years, the Science Museum of Virginia has presentedFruit Case Science. It's an interactive display that subjects fruitcake to the rigors of scientific testing. Those tests include seeing how the cakes respond to liquid nitrogen, a five-story fall and even a torch.
Fruit Cake Science was the inspiration for this new addition to the parade. The giant fruit cake balloon is nearly 50-feet long, 17-feet high and required 22 handlers as it meandered down Broad Street.
