RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - High school sports can get competitive on and off the field, especially when a future in college is on the line.
It seems that some teens are looking for anything to get an advantage.
A new study find one out of every three teen boys have used protein powders to build muscle. Six percent of boys say they've used steroids.
For girls, 21% say they've used protein shakes or supplements and 5% have used steroids.
The researchers who conducted the study say the number of teens admitting to using supplements is higher than in previous years.
