RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The growing season is now “officially” over for nearly all of the Commonwealth (except near Norfolk) as we have all had a freeze as of this morning. These are the low temperatures across central Virginia resulting from mostly clear skies overnight and a light northeast breeze, reinforcing a cold, dry air-mass. High pressure just to our north helped create those conditions, leading to optimum radiational cooling overnight. (Frost photo by CBS 6 viewer Ed Jones in Rawlings, VA).
