PICS: Coffee shop has floor made of money

Posted

A woman in Garfield, Pennsylvania used about 250,000 pennies to create the tile in her 800-square foot tattoo gallery.

Mel Angst owns the tattoo gallery and coffee shop and says it was cheaper to glue the money down than buy tile. The total cost then would be $2,500 or about $3 per square foot.

She picked up the pennies at a local bank, and traded tattoos for manpower.

Angst says it took about 300 hours over a total of three weeks to penny-tile her floor.
