RICHMOND, VA (WTVR) – Virginia’s Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is warning Virginians about a growing hazard on the roads: deer.
According to State Farm, Virginia ranks 10th in the nation among for crashes between deer and drivers. You actually have a 1-in-103 chance of being involved in an accident with a deer. That’s almost double the risk nationally.
The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries only expects that number to grow due to mild temperatures and the fact that daylight saving time is now happening later in the year.
