District Attorney asks judge to reconsider Ty Levy sentence

LYCOMING, Pa. (WTVR)--A district attorney in Pennsylvania is asking a judge to reconsider the sentence handed down for Ty Levy.

Levy is the 49-year-old former Henrico teacher and tennis coach convicted of sex abuse and unlawful contact with a minor there.

The 49-year old was sentenced to time served, 16 months. This means that he would be released from jail at the end of the month. He would then return to Henrico to serve six years supervised probation.

Today the DA asked the judge to reconsider because he thinks the sentence is too lenient.

Levy was found guilty of two counts of sexual abuse of children and four counts of unlawful contact with a minor. The Sun Gazette reported that Levy arranged inappropriate online video chats with a 15-year-old South Williamsport girl in December 2009.

Levy was arrested on June 23, 2011.
